My journey in the UK started ten years ago when I came to study for my undergrad in Engineering. Having been born and brought up in Kenya, getting a degree at University of Manchester felt like a dream. I pursued a four year degree in Electronic Engineering which included an industrial placement.
I then kick-started my career in tech on a consulting grad scheme at a Big 4. At that point I wasn’t too specific on where I wanted to work in, I just knew it had to be tech.
Fast forward, I now work as a Tech Strategy & Transformation consultant. On a day to day, my role varies depending on the client and where they are in their digital journey.
Hobbies and Interests
I love the outdoors. If it’s sunny you’ll likely find me outside on a nature trail somewhere. I also love the cinema. Like annual pass type of cinema fanatic :)
Outside of my 9-5, I enjoy creating content for my YouTube channel - Afro Girl Diaries. I started it during the height of lockdown covering my ACCA qualification journey. It has now evolved as I have evolved and has pivoted towards real, raw and honest conversations about workplace dynamics. As all content creators say, make sure to subscribe!
If you could go back in time and talk to your younger self at 18 - 25, what would you say?
Don’t take life too serious. You’ll be just fine.
